Current and Future Riverside County Gun Owners Members,
Due to new guidelines about COVID-19, we have regretfully decided to cancel our monthly meeting at on March 28th.
We want our meetings to be useful and productive, but with so many having to deal with the fallout from COVID-19, we don’t think a meeting will be productive. So let’s take this month off. Hope things calm down quickly. Our next meting will be April so keep an eye out for our email and posts on Facebook.
If we may…we do not know when things will calm down. Do the things now that will allow you to look back and be proud of the person you were. Help those who need it. Take care of those around you. The reaction to the outbreak has already cost people their livelihood and the longer the panic continues, the more jobs will be lost. Be mindful of the tribulations of others and do what you can to make things better. Make sure you and your loved ones stay safe to the best of your ability, but think of ways you can help those who are in need. The next few weeks is the time to practice self-reliance while exercising generosity and demonstrating patience.
Thank you.
-RCGO

A word from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department
Directly from Deputy Searles:

Effective immediately, all access to sheriff’s facilities, our lobbies/waiting rooms will be closed to the public, this includes all sheriff’s live scan facilities in an attempt to limit the potential of our employees being exposed to the C19-virus.
All in person background interviews will be done on the telephone. Please be available for our telephone call during the date/time you were scheduled to meet with the CCW Unit. If we are unable to contact you, unfortunately this will delay your process.
After the telephone interview is completed, we will mail a live scan form upon request only. Until we resume those services, private institutions may have those services still available.
Our CCW training and range qualifications are cancelled during this period. If desired, there are 17 vendors for these services listed on our website.
For renewal applicants who already have a digital photo and digital fingerprint on file in our new system, your permit will be mailed to you upon approval. If you do not have the aforementioned on file your permit will not be issued until the sheriff’s facilities are reopened.
For those initial applicants who already have a digital photo and a digital fingerprint in our new system, will be mailed their permit upon approval. Actual issuance of the permit will require in-person contact and will be very limited during this time period. Please don’t show up to our facility, we will let you know with a personal phone call.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please do what you can to help spread the above message for the sheriff.
